American and British sign language courses are of course different so i have attached different products depending on which language you choose to follow. There are a good variety of sign languages in circulation today. This is because many different groups of people have started their own. Sign languages are not a recent concept, indeed they date back pretty much to when mankind was evolving in to the species we are today. In fact sign language was the precursor to speech! So for those of you reading this who use signing as your first language, then i for one salute you.

Imagine you are a tribesman before the last ice age and you traveled across the plains over the mountains in the distance along with your family to the next valley. You will have communicated with your fellow man through signs and by indicating your needs through your hands along with a fine collection of gutteral noises. So over time these noises became speech. Over time the species evolved vocal language, however sometimes people are born without the use of their ears. So signing within communities has become widespread. There has been a shift towards amalgamating these communities in to languages but that has occurred only relatively recently. Click here to read more.
